How to Become a Christian
God wants to have a relationship with each of us. In fact, we each have a God shaped void in our heart that can
be filled up only by God. But we can't create this relationship all by ourselves.
Proof: Isaiah 64:6 "All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags"
That's because we have a problem. We are sinners, and our sin leaves us spiritually empty, wanting to be with God,
but instead being separate.
Proof: Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
If you are wondering how to become a Christian, if you are reading this
page, God is already drawing you. He is drawing you to have salvation, which is his gift. By
accepting salvation, you become close to God and begin that new relationship with him.
Salvation is the way that God delivered you from sin, and from spiritual death. He did this through
Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." He
also said, "I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the father except through me."
When God gave his son to come to live on earth, he was giving him over to die. Not a spiritual death, but a
physical death. His death made atonement for the sins of the people, and in this way, your sins are forgiven and
your relationship with God can become restored. A person who believes in Jesus and has accepted him as their Savior
has received eternal life through Jesus Christ.
