Kevin's
Story

|
|
Kevin
Eller is a
volunteer firefighter for West Carter County Volunteer
Fire Department. In 2002, Kevin had just dropped his son off and
was driving on Okolona
Road when his truck left the road and traveled 35 feet down an
embankment, hitting three trees on the way. The truck bed was torn off,
the windshield was shattered and completely from its frame.
|
|
|
The cab was completely
crushed except for
the place he was sitting.
Had his son still been in the truck, he would have been decapitated.
|
 |
|
When rescue personnel
arrived, the assistant
fire chief went down on
his knees, sure that his friend Kevin had been killed. Kevin was in
fact already out of the truck, with only a one-inch scratch on his arm.
It didn't take long to figure out why Kevin had been
able to survive such a horrific crash. There across his mangled
windsheild lay the wooden cross that normally hung from his rear-view
mirror. |
 |
“That was God leaving his
business card,” Kevin says. “If God had not been
with me, I have no doubt I would have died.”
